Our Vessel

The Jesus Lives is 86’ long and 26’ wide

The Jesus Lives was built in Chauvin, LA, and took her maiden voyage in April 2017. Captain Skip bought the vessel in 2020. He considered a name change but ultimately decided there was no better name however, he did change the paint scheme to make her similar to his previous vessels. At 86ft long and 26ft wide, the Jesus Lives is one of the largest shrimp boats on the East Coast. She has plenty of power, boasting twin Cummins K19 engines run by two 100KW Cummins generators. Her outriggers are 60ft, and she pulls four 55ft nets. She swings two four-blade propellers and in-nozzles and handles weather beautifully. The Jesus Lives sleeps seven and has a full kitchen and bath. She holds 17,000 gallons of fuel and 10,000 gallons of water, making 2-3 week trips before she needs to return to port. She can hold 70,000 pounds of shrimp! Our Shrimp are truly of the utmost quality thanks to the state-of-the-art freezer system. The freezer hole stores them at -5 degrees until it’s time to offload. She is truly a beauty and stands out as one of the few shrimp boats that have the wheelhouse on top of the cabin.
