Generations of Knowledge & Experience
Our story
At Coastline Shrimp, we are passionate about preserving the shrimp industry. This history and culturally rich industry has struggled to stay alive. More and more boats are tied up at the dock and calling it quits. Despite unbelievably hard work and dedication to their livelihood, captains find it harder and harder to compete with the low prices of imported shrimp and high fuel prices. Throw in a bad season or mechanical problems, and you have a disaster. Captain Skip has always dreamed of getting his shrimp to as many consumers as possible. After owning and captaining his boats over the last 23 years, he realized he had to make a change to keep thriving and leave a legacy for his sons. He worked tirelessly to get our shrimp into restaurants and seafood markets in our area. He dreamed of starting a shrimp shipping business and during a shrimp delivery to Bluffton Oyster Co, owner Larry Toomer introduced Captain Skip to a couple visiting from Colorado. They bought and prepared his shrimp while vacationing in the low country and were loading up a cooler of shrimp to drive back home. Captain Skip felt if there ever was a sign to start shipping shrimp, this was it!
Our Goal
As a fourth-generation commercial fisherman, Captain Skip deeply respects the ocean and all it has to offer. It is his goal to provide you with our fresh, wild-caught, delicious shrimp at reasonable prices while preserving and expanding our family's rich history in the shrimping industry.
